Photo of new train for District/Circle/H&C/Met

Go here to see what I think is the first actual photo of one of the new S Stock trains. By 2015 these will be running all services on the Circle, District, Hammersmith & City and Metropolitan Lines, with the first in passenger service some time in 2010.

Did london underground ever consider intergrating sub surface lines through the city with a London overground suburban network. similar to RER or S-bahn?

DfT certainly considered it even if LU didn't. When the Public Private Partnership was introduced, the original intention was to "sell" the SSL (sub-surface lines) infrastructure company to Railtrack plc. AIUI, this precipitated a preliminary study of the potential for integrating SSL and NR services that, like the "sale", went no further when Railtrack was wound up.

Very nice! From the rants on District Dave's forums I expected this to look much worse.

But will it have enough seats and will they be comfortable for those of us making the long trek on the Amersham line?

I love the Metronet slogan - "Delivering our promises."

LUL!

This will be up against some stiff competition on the Amersham/Chesham line. At the moment the Chiltern Trains stock is so much more comfortable than the current Met. Line stock, whose ride quality is really bad.

Lovely and easier on the eye than the new Victoria line trains.
